Photoenology.org will allow an on-line community of wine enthusiasts, enologists, and academic researchers, who are interested in sharing experiences, photonic-recipes, and general knowledge; to better understand the effects of light on wine.
While most wine-enthusiasts know that too much light of certain colors may be harmful to wine quality, the emerging knowledge, enabled by the new VINságe™ photonic beverage processor, is that a well controlled amount of light at the right colors can make wine very interesting. As users gain experience, the recipes for each wine can be shared between users, in an effort to better understand the effects of light on wine.
A toaster is a good analogy for the VINságe™ photonic beverage processor. While there is a slight learning-curve for anyone who is using a toaster for the first time, they quickly discover that bread becomes a delightfully interesting toast before it turns to charcoal. Likewise, people quickly discover how interesting and complex wine can become with the proper use of light.
Most people only need a single demonstration of the VINságe™ photonic beverage processor to understand the usefulness of the device.
Since wine is known to be affected by light, and since the vast majority of wine is exposed to light prior to being consumed (in the winery, on a store shelf, on a kitchen counter top, in a wine glass) it is clear that wine enthusiasts will benefit from the ability to control this aspect of wine enjoyment.

The VINságe™ Wine & Liquor Processor is not an aerator, it is an entirely new class of accessory for wine and/or liquor enthusiasts. The VINságe™ is based on photo-aging effect which is a significantly different process that aeration. Wine treated with the VINságe™ can subsequently be aerated or decanted in a manner similar to an aged wine.
Opportunity
The initial target market segment are homemade-wine makers, who typically do not adequately age their wine. VINságe™ demonstrations for expert homemade wine makers were all extremely positive. Editors at The Winemaker Magazine (http://www.winemakermag.com/) also had positive reactions to the VINságe™ demonstration; and indicated that the estimated 600K+ homemade-wine makers are more interested in performance than in equipment aesthetics. The homemade-wine maker version of the VINságe™ would not require expenses to refine the product's aesthetics. An advanced version of the VINságe™ targeting a larger general consumer market would require additional investment(s) and refined aesthetics for sale by local wine & liquor retailers, and international specialty retailers. Additional market segments with separate investment profiles include versions for beverage manufacturers, wine production, liquor production, and/or development of entirely new beverage labels.
